That one man wrote “Proud Mary” and “Bad Moon Rising” and “Down on the Corner” and “Fortunate Son” and “Green River” and “Born on the Bayou” and “Lodi” is amazing. That all were released in the same year – 1969 – is astounding. That the following year the same man’s band released “Lookin’ Out My Back Door” and “Long As I Can See the Light” and “Up Around the Bend” and “Who’ll Stop the Rain” and “Travelin’ Band” and “Run Through the Jungle” and “Hey Tonight,” all written by him as well, is mind-blowing. Today that man, John Fogerty, turns 76 years old. Wishing him the happiest!
Here are 30 of John Fogerty’s finest contributions. My initial plan was to include more of his post-Creedence, pre-Centerfield work, but it is notably missing from Spotify.
